Volvo V90 Images Leaked
Kuala Lumpur: Thanks to the Swedish magazine Teknikens Varld, we are able to get a sight of the all new Volvo V90 just before its expected debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Being a successor of Volvo V70, it is much different than its predecessor and measures 5.9 inches longer. This increased length may also result in an increased boot space. This car also shares its front fascia with the Volvo S90 which was unveiled on the internet recently. The most striking feature of the front end is its huge air intakes which is not identical to any other Volvo model. Both the cars are based on SPA platform which is common to Volvo XC90 as well. At the rear end it features long vertical, sharper looking tail lights flanking the tailgate.
Under the hood, V90 would be getting some improved powertrains as compared to the V70. The range-topping variant could be powered by a T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid which churns out a maximum power of 407 hp. This would include a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine at the front axle and an electric motor at the rear one. Further, it would be mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission as well. Apart from that, some other engines are also expected like Power Pulse turbodiesel engine along with a high-performance Polestar version.
Expected to make a debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, this car would compete with the likes of BMW 5-series Touring, Audi A6 Avant and Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon.
