Volvo to Introduce Microsoft Band 2 for Voice Sync
Volvo, the Swedish manufacturing company in collaboration with the tech giant Microsoft, is set to launch a Microsoft band 2 app that allows you to communicate with your SUV. This wearable band can be activated through a voice control system that permits you to control your Volvo car via your wrist.
The Microsoft Band App is connected with ‘Volvo’s On Call’ mobile app to control the car remotely and allows you to instruct your vehicle various tasks such as locking the doors, starting the car, switching the heater on, set the navigation, activate your lights or sounding the horn that adds more safety to your vehicle.
Thomas Müller, Vice President Electrics/ Electronics & E-Propulsion at Volvo Car Group, stated, “Volvo is intent on making the car experience as easy and convenient as possible by utilising the latest technology in the most relevant and inspiring ways. With voice control, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface of what is possible with digital assistant functionalities,”.
It is not for the first time that the Swedish manufacturer Volvo has released any wearable band App. Last year, the Volvo launched Apple Watch and Android Wear apps that accomplish same tasks as this band, but without the voice control function.
Earlier in 2015, the Volvo and Microsoft collaboration resulted in the evolution of technology for Volvo. Now, both the companies have introduced HoloLens augmented reality headset that magnifies an image, which is a replacement for the conventional car buying experience. Unlike the HoloLens headsets, this Microsoft wristband is unique and different equipment which will be available for the customers by the end of 2016.
Till then and stay tuned for further information!!!
