Volvo S90 Teaser Images Revealed
Kuala Lumpur: Volvo has released two teaser images of its Volvo S90 which hints towards the new styling. These images appear to be a computer-generated outline of the car as a part of Volvo's partnership with Microsoft to develop a range of future technologies. One of these technologies is wearable computer known as HoloLens which would allow the customer to visualise their car in 3D while buying from a dealer. These images come just before its official debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit in January.
Moving over to the first image, it gives a clear view of the car which looks identical to that of the 1:43 scale die cast model which leaked earlier this year. Further, it borrows some elements from Volvo XC90 including the “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights and two-section B-shaped taillights. Moreover, one can also notice the same chrome accents around the window frames. Moving on to the second teaser image, a clear view of the rear end is shown, specifically the area around taillights. The narrow B-shaped taillights extend towards the central 'Volvo' logo. Below the company's insignia one can find a large crease line which appears to be a heavily shaped boot lid. Unlike the masculine S80, the all-new Volvo S90 would be much smoother with a more elegant profile.

Just like its crossover siblings, this sedan is expected to be powered by a 2.0 litre Drive-E four-cylinder engine in T5 and T6 petrol which churns out a maximum power of 407 hp along with a peak torque of 640 Nm. Further, a T8 Twin Engine in plug-in hybrid setup would also be provided with D4 and D5 diesel options. Moreover, it is expected to ride on the SPA platform which was also seen in the Volvo XC90 SUV. Although no definite information is provided as of when it would enter the production grounds but one can expect it to be in late 2015 or early 2016.
