In a recent interview with the Australian website CarSales, Rowan confirmed that the world premiere of the all-new Volvo EX30 will be held on June 15, 2023.
According to him, the arrival of the EV is “really important” for the brand. It will be a good-sized safe SUV with a “decent range” and will be offered at a “really nice price point.” The statement connects with his earlier statement about the new entry-level SUV that promises “top safety equipment, a fantastic ride, and high quality.”
The EX30 will target the younger generation and could potentially become Volvo’s best-selling model, he added. Last year, the Swedish-based automaker sold a total of 615,121 cars (3,194 deliveries in the local market with a y-on-y growth of 43%). By 2025, it targets annual sales of 1.2 million vehicles with half of the contribution coming from electric vehicles.
Volvo is also expected to offer the small SUV via a subscription plan in some markets. In this context, Rowan commented that the subscription will be available with a minimum period of 3 months.
After its debut in the middle of June, the production of the EV will be carried out in China with deliveries expected to commence by the end of this year.
