Before diving into the detailed specifications of the Volvo EX30, let’s look at the variants and pricing first.

    Volvo EX30 Price

Volvo Car Malaysia offers the EX30 in three variants - Plus, Ultra, and Ultra Twin Performance, priced as follows -

    Variants

    Price

    Volvo EX30 Plus

    RM 188,888

    Volvo EX30 Ultra

    RM 208,888

    Volvo EX30 Ultra Twin Performance

    RM 228,888

Included in the price is a 5-year/unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty, and a 5-year complimentary Volvo Service Plan. Along with that, buyers also get 24/7 roadside assistance with free towing service, and 5-year free Google and data connectivity.

Volvo EX30 Drivetrain, range, and charging

The Plus and Ultra variants of the EV are powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, which is capable of generating a maximum power of 276 PS and a peak torque of 343 Nm. It enables the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and hit an electronically-limited speed of 180 kmph.

Feeding the motor is a 69 kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, which offers a range of 476 km on the WLTP cycle. As for charging, it takes eight hours when using an 11 kW AC charger, however, the 175 kW fast DC charger can do 10 to 80% of the job in just 28 minutes.

The top-spec Ultra Twin Performance, on the contrary, comes equipped with an all-wheel drive dual motor setup tuned to deliver 434 PS and 543 Nm. It completes the century sprint in 3.6 seconds only, making the EX30 Volvo’s fastest accelerating production model ever.

The battery size and charging remain the same as the lower-spec variants, however, the range is reduced to 450 km due to the increased power output.

    Volvo EX30 Dimensions

Based on Volvo’s Sustainable Experience Architecture, the EX30 is positioned below the XC40 and C40 in the line-up. It measures 4,223 mm in length, 1,837 mm in width, 1,555 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The boot space is estimated at 318 litres, expandable up to 718 litres with the rear seats down.

    Volvo EX30 Exterior

The Volvo EX30 features a sleek and sporty design with a wide stance and a sloping roofline. Notable design elements include a pixelated version of Volvo's iconic Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights, two-section LED headlights, and a clamshell bonnet.

Adding to the EV’s athletic look are prominent wheel arches, 19-inch two-tone Diamond Cut alloy wheels, frameless auto-dimming wing mirrors, and LED tail lights.

    Volvo EX30 Interior

The minimalist cabin of the Volvo EX30 combines stylish Scandinavian design with modern creature comforts. Designed with sustainability in mind, the EV boasts the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo car, at under 30 tonnes over 200,000 km. The interior comprises upcycled denim, recycled polyester, and materials with 30% recycled content for a premium yet eco-friendly experience.

The EV comes with five ambient light themes inspired by Swedish nature which can be paired with calming soundscapes for a relaxing atmosphere, powered by Harman Kardon Premium Sound system.

The infotainment duties are handled by a 12.3-inch Google Built-in infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay. It also includes a dedicated app for locking and unlocking the car, setting charging levels, and managing settings remotely. The list of goodies also includes a dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, a wireless charging pad, powered front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

    Volvo EX30 Safety

The EX30 is packed with Volvo’s full Safe Space Technology suite and advanced driver assistance systems that are backed by radars, ultrasonic sensors, and cameras located around the car.
