Volvo EX30 electric SUV debuts in Thailand; When will it come to Malaysia?
KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in June this year, the Volvo EX30 has made its way to the ASEAN region, with Thailand being the first ASEAN market to get this fully electric SUV. The automaker has revealed the pricing and specifications of the Thai-spec Volvo EX30; however, deliveries are expected to begin next year in February.

In a recent interview, Volvo Car Malaysia MD Charles Frump confirmed that the EX30 will hit Malaysian roads next year.The EX30 is offered in three variants in Thailand at the following prices -

The Single Motor Extended Range variants come powered by a 272 PS/ 343 Nm electric motor enabling the EV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and attain a top speed of 180 kmph. Feeding the motor is a 69-kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery pack which lets the EV travel up to 480 km on a single charge.
The Ultra Twin Motor Performance variant, on the other hand, gets two electric motors together churning out a maximum power of 428 PS and a peak torque of 543 Nm. The performance trim completes the century sprint in 3.6 seconds only. While the battery pack is the same 69-kWh NMC unit as the single motor variants, the range is slightly less at 460 km.
Dubbed as Volvo's smallest SUV, the EX30 is 4,233 mm long, 1,837 mm wide, and 1,549 mm tall. The wheelbase is measured at 2,650 mm.
Feature-wise, the EV is kitted with LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, a panoramic roof, a 12.3-inch central screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, front cross traffic alert, and lane change alert.
