Compact Size, Premium Colors
The EX30, designed for urban living, measures 4,223mm in length, 1,837mm in width, and 1,555mm in height. That's roughly around the same size of the Proton X50 or Perodua Ativa. It comes in three premium colour options:
- Cloud Blue
- Vapour Grey
- Crystal White
Practicality is key, with a 318-litre boot capacity that expands to 904 liters when the rear seats are folded. There's also a small front trunk offering an additional seven liters of storage.
Sleek Looks, Minimalist Cabin
Just like the CBU units, the compact fully electrified pocket rocket carries Volvo’s signature electric vehicle closed grille, the now iconic Thor’s Hammer digital headlights, and 19” Diamond Cut alloy wheels. Other exterior bits of kit include a substantial panoramic sunroof and frameless auto-dimming mirrors.
Inside, you’ll find a minimalist cabin with not many buttons, but of course a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Harman Kardon sound system, and single-zone climate control.
Performance and Range
Both variants feature a 69kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack.
- The Ultra variant offers 272PS and 343Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, with a range of up to 476km.
- The Ultra Twin Motor Performance ups the ante with 428PS and 543Nm, hitting 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, though its range is slightly shorter at 450km.
Charging options include up to 11kW AC charging, which takes 7.5 hours for a full charge, or 153kW DC fast charging, which gets the battery from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes.
Fastest Volvo Ever with Cutting-Edge Tech
Volvo is calling the EX30 its fastest accelerating car yet, and with an acceleration time from 0-100km/h 3.6 seconds it is justified, but it’s not just about speed. The EV is packed with advanced goodies like an upgraded Pilot Assist system, an intuitive Google built-in interface, and advanced parking assistance technology. As always with Volvos, safety remains a priority, with 360° cameras, sensors, radar, and Park Pilot Assist enhancing driver confidence.
Deliveries Start January 2025
If you’re thinking of getting one, you’ll be glad to know that the first batch of locally assembled Volvo EX30s is set to arrive in customers’ possession by the second week of January 2025.
