Volkswagen unveils the ID.2all EV; will cost less than RM 119,300
KUALA LUMPUR: Electric cars will no longer be a thing for wealthy people as Volkswagen is going to break this stereotype. Yes, the German automaker has unveiled its most affordable car of the ID range of electric vehicles. Dubbed as the Volkswagen ID.2all, the EV is currently previewed as the concept vehicle with deliveries of the road-ready model to commence in 2026.

One of the most exciting details the automaker shared about the upcoming ID.2all is its price point. The EV will cost less than 25,000 euros (which is approximately equal to RM 119,300). The mentioned price tag is even less than the Volkswagen Polo which retails for 20,830 Euros in Germany.
Volkswagen has also confirmed a few important specifications of the EV, which are as follows -
- The production-spec iteration will be based on the MEB Entry platform with a front-wheel-drive setup
- It will be equipped with an electric motor mounted on the front wheel, which will be capable of generating a maximum power of 226 hp
- Performance-wise, the EV will hit the century sprint in less than 7 seconds before attaining a top speed of 160 kmph
- While the automaker did not reveal the capacity of the battery pack, it does mention the EV will cruise up to 450 km (on the WLTP cycle) on a single charge
- The battery will juice up from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes, confirmed Volkswagen
- The Volkswagen ID.2all measures 4,050 mm in length, 1,812 mm in width, 1,530 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The boot capacity is rated at 490 litres that can be expandable up to 1,330 litres with rear seats folded down
- The vehicle rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped with 225/40R20 tyres
- In terms of design, the EV features a new design language with “a friendly face, a good portion of dynamics, and timeless elegance”
- The interior is kitted with high-quality materials, a 10.9-inch digital cockpit screen, head-up display, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a new multifunction steering wheels, a separate air-conditioning control panel, two wireless mobile charging pads, and illuminated buttons
