VinFast plant a tree for every reservation

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, VinFast is moving towards sustainable development in a somewhat effective way. Apart from manufacturing environmentally-friendly smart EVs, the Vietnamese automaker is inspiring many to adopt an actively advanced green lifestyle through its latest initiative.

Called the ‘Plant the Future’ project, it aims to increase ‘forest cover, protect the ecological environment, improve the environmental landscape, and reverse the effects of global climate change’.

How will VinFast do all that?

Under this initiative, the automaker will plant one tree for each reservation made for its VF8 or VF9 EV between January 5, 2022, to May 30, 2022. Also, VinFast will contribute to projects that plant trees and restore forests globally.

As of April 2022, the company has received 65,000 reservations for its VF8 and VF9 EVs globally, so at least 65,000 new trees will be planted.

The VinFast ‘Plant the Future’ project will work in phases and is expected to reach various parts of the world. For the first year, it is being implemented in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, in collaboration with the Phu Quoc National Park Management Board and Vinpearl, a member of Vingroup.

This way, the automaker hopes for the reverse effect of climate change on the national park spread over 29,596 hectares and includes three significant ecosystems.

What else is VinFast offering its buyers?

For its customers across Europe, Canada, and the US who reserve a VF 8 or VF 9 by May 30, the company is planning to offer an e-voucher, free VinFast level 1 portable charger, free ADAS & Smart Service packages, a 7-day Vinpearl resort tour (including a three-bedroom beach villa for four people at one or multiple Vinpearl hotels in Vietnam), and an exclusive VinFirst NFT.
