Upcoming Toyota A90 Supra image leaked
KUALA LUMPUR: The fifth-generation Toyota Supra seems to take forever to be unveiled. However, there is now a good glimpse of the car ahead of its official unveil, thanks to an uncovered image that is now floating across the internet. The image was taken while it was being unloaded from a carriage truck and hence, only the front fascia could be snapped.
The Toyota A90 Supra, that has been revealed in the image, seems to be in its production-ready phase as it appears to have a more realistic approach to the external cues. Hence, this might be the model the potential buyers will get to buy.
And since we started with talking about the designing, it becomes indispensable to mention that this production-ready Supra takes its styling cues from the concept FT-1 that was shown to us way back in 2014. Though the design isn’t as curvy as the track-focused concept model, some of the elements, like the bulgy nose has been adopted, albeit a little sedated. Other visuals, like the air intakes on either corner of the bumper, are smaller than the ones seen on the concept.
Apart from these, there is another air intake right in the centre of the bumper, just below the nose, which takes the count to three in a row. However, this was missing in the concept model. The bonnet is lightly contoured, but not as much as the previously debuted concept. The roof gets the same double-bubble design.
Lastly, the A-pillar is slightly straight and gets black paint on it. Moreover, the rear-view mirrors are given the same black treatment and are more practical in design. The side and the rear profile might also take inspiration from the FT-1 concept, albeit with minor tweaks. More of the details about the car would be out once it debuts at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show next year.
As of now, the car looks promising and is expected to stay that way even after the official debut.
