Upcoming 2022 Nissan 400Z engine specs revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan's iconic Z car, the 400Z will be fully revised for 2022. The company reviewed it in the form of the Z Proto concept car and the car seems to draw design inspiration from the previous-gen Z cars. It will feature updated technology and benefit from cabin modernization. The car is expected to arrive as a hardtop coupe with a convertible model to follow later.
It is expected to be cost dearer than the current 370Z which is justifiable via its more luxurious features, and better styling, and enhanced performance. Speaking of performance, the upcoming 400Z is rumored to benefit from the Infiniti Q60 powering 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo mill. The said rumor started after CarDrive reported that 400Z's engine bay picture was uploaded by an Instagram user. The said image was taken down shortly after.
Visible in the image were coolant caps and rubber hoses that resembled the Q60's VR30DDTT mill. Believing the image, the 400Z will get a special engine whose cover colour will match the exterior tone.
As for the output details, the Nissan Z car's engine is said to pump out a maximum power of 400 PS and a peak torque of 500 Nm. Sending power to the rear wheels will be the standard six-speed manual transmission. Also, available will be an ala-drive variant with a seven-speed transmission with adaptive shift control.
