Upcoming 2021 Volkswagen Polo spied in Europe
KUALA KUMPUR: Yes, you read it just right. Volkswagen is working on a new 2021 Polo model and it is expected to be unveiled later this year. Though we aren't sure about its local debut, it'll surely greet the European market as it's doing test runs on the continent.
The spy shots that you see here were posted at a Spanish forum called Cochespias. The said images reveal the hatch receiving styling updates that are in-line with the new Golf design language.
At the front, we see Golf-inspired headlamps connected via a broad trim, which if inspired by Polo's sibling will feature LED DRLs on higher-grade models along with LED headlights.
The rear-end gets new LED taillights with a lighting signature. Also noticeable is a revised profile that extends into the tailgate - so what similar to what we have seen on the latest VW ID.3 electric hatchback. Part of the kit is also a revised lower rear valance and restyled lower front fascia.
On the inside, we expect the new model to be an improvement over the current. So, though without any image or clue, we expect the 2021 Polo to feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen updated to run VW's latest infotainment system, an optional 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, touch-based climate controls, and a redesigned steering.
As for the upcoming hatch under the configuration changes, we expect none. In the overseas markets, like Australia, it'll continue to run on 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo and 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo GTI
When will the 2021 VW Polo arrive?
As mentioned earlier the new VW Polo is expected to arrive later this year. Courtesy, to the minimal camouflage the car is seeing wearing.
