UMW Toyota records a remarkable sales performance in 1H2023
KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside Proton and Perodua, Toyota has also released its sales numbers for the first half of 2023. The non-national automaker managed to sell a total of 48,659 units (including Lexus) from January to June this year; the last month chipped in a total of 8,669 units (8,559 Toyota and 110 Lexus).

While revealing its sales results, the Japanese automaker also made an important announcement in the form of opening the reservations for the highly-awaited 2023 Toyota Alphard and Vellfire.
The all-new 2023 Alphard is offered in sole 2.4T Executive Lounge trim, priced at RM 538,000. As the name suggests, it is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mill which is capable of generating a maximum power of 279 hp and a peak torque of 430 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Direct Shift 8-speed Automatic with Sequential and paddle shifters.
The all-new 2023 Toyota Vellfire 2.5 trim, on the other hand, retails for RM 438,000. Under its hood, we can find a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre petrol unit, which is good for making 182 hp and 235 Nm of torque. Here, the transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed Super CVT-i with a Sports Sequential Shiftmatic system.
UMW Toyota is yet to announce the all-new Alphard and Vellfire launch dates.
