UMW Toyota Motor will operate selected service centres during MCO
KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia has confirmed today that it has received approval from MITI (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) to re-open selected service centres nationwide. However, the outlets will be working for emergency and urgent service requirements only, with a minimum capacity.
In line with the announcement of the MCO extension by the Prime Minister, the ministry has permitted several industries, including car companies to apply for resumption of operations in the third phase of the order, which is currently in effect until April 28.
The firm advised the customers to confirm the operating slots of their nearest service centres and take a prior appointment before the visit. Although, all the MCO travel restrictions need to be followed while visiting the service centre. It also ensured the safety and protection of visitors. At the centres, the practice of social distancing will continue with at least a metre gap to avoid the spread of the virus.
UMW Toyota has also extended the existing warranties of the vehicles purchased from its authorized dealers that are expiring during the MCO phase. The extension is of 30 days, calculated from the last day of the MCO period.
“As we always place customer care as a top priority, all Toyota vehicles sent to our service centres will receive a thorough inspection to ensure they are in good running order. However, we also urge customers to adhere to the regulations of the Movement Control Order and help to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” said K. Ravindran. President of UMW Toyota Motor.
