Kuala Lumpur: The Trumpchi i-Lounge Concept has recently made its debut at 2015 Guangzhou Auto Show in China. As reported by CarNewsChina, the i-Lounge concept actually previews a real car – The Trumpchi GM5 MPV, which is expected to arrive in the Chinese auto market in late 2016.

Visually speaking, the Trumpchi i-Lounge concept features a two-tone paint job, with A and D pillars getting a silver finish leading up to the roof. The front fascia of the i-Lounge concept is entirely occupied by a shiny all chrome four- bar grille with a huge Guangzhou Auto badge. All chromed bars originate from the four-piece LED headlights and are progressively positioned lowered as well. The racecar sized bumper has air vents on each size of the grille, below which lies a silver-painted lower lip positioned just above the blacked-out lower section of the bumper.
The side sills of the concept also feature a silver finishing.
The rear side of the Trumpchi i-Lounge features large wraparound taillights with chrome surrounds, connected by a red LED strip. The large vents near the rear fenders feature the same design at the front of the concept.
The interior of the Trumpchi i-Lounge concept features a good amount of white leather and wood on the seats, panels and dashboard. There are four captain seats and a center deck in the second row complete with a tea set. However, we can also expect a more conventional seven-seater setup in the future.
The Trumpchi GM5 MPV is expected to be powered by a 200hp 2.0L turbocharged engine. The MPV is said to give a tough competition to the Buick GL8, Honda Elysion, and the Toyota Alphard in the Chinese market.
