KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Toyota Veloz is on its way to Malaysia. The crossover is already open for booking and according to the automaker's dealers' network, the new model will get a virtual launch. When? Approximately, two weeks from now on October 18th 2022 it getting ready for public viewing from Oct 21, 2022.

UWM Toyota, the official distributor of the automaker in the country, opened its ordering books for Veloz a while back (June 2022) and since then has registered over 5,200 interests.
However, it is to be noted that the news is not made official by the automaker and so changes are deemed to happen.

What do we know ‘for sure’ about the upcoming Toyota Veloz?

Platform

 The all-new Veloz is supported by Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA-B). It is the same platform that is found under the Perodua Alza.

Manufacturing

The Veloz will be built at the same facility as the Aruz, Alza, and Myvi, i.e., Perodua Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (PMSB) located in Rawang.

Exterior Features

The upcoming Toyota will feature powerful LED headlights with sequential turn signals, and roof rails offering extra cargo space.

Cabin equipment

The Veloz benefits from several comforting and connectivity features including - a 7-inch colour multi-information display with a premium finish, wireless charging, multiple USB charging ports, 12V accessory outlets, 9-inch display audio with wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto-Ready Connectivity (AACP), and Vehicle Telematics System.

 

Interior space

The all-new Veloz is a big spacious car with enough head- and shoulder room. The car’s 498-litre boot space is generous enough to fit various types of loads.

Safety

The Veloz will benefit from Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) which includes several advanced driver assistance systems including - a Pre-Collision System and Adaptive Cruise Control. It also gets an Electric Parking Brake with an automatic brake hold.

Colour options

Once launched, Toyota will be offering the Veloz in five hues namely White, Blue Metallic with Black Roof, Silver Metallic with Black Roof, Metallic Bluish Black, and Red Metallic.

Estimated price

The Veloz will be offered in one single variant, 1.5 AT that would retail for around RM 95,000. Included in the price is a 5-year warranty from the registration with unlimited mileage.
