Toyota C-HR facelift revealed, comes with new 2.0L hybrid variant
Toyota has finally taken the wraps off new facelifted C-HR featuring improved and powerful hybrid powertrains. Other changes evident here are a new multimedia system and some exterior design changes that come with the mid-cycle upgrade.
The updated C-HR gets a stylish front bumper with new LED headlights and tail lights. Design-wise the new daytime running lights (DRLs) and indicators combined into one frontal projector which looks very attractive and gives a new look to the car. Other visual changes include a new painted lower lip, fresh alloy wheel designs and a pair of new combi lamps at the rear which are connected by a gloss black spoiler creating a new unique shape.
The updated C-HR will be powered by an all new 2.0 litre Hybrid Dynamic Force engine churning out 184 PS of power. Enthusiasts should be looking towards this new hybrid engine as it provides an absolute blend of power and fun.
Other engines include the same 2ZR-FXE 1.8 litre Atkinson-cycle engine working with an electric motor with 72 PS and 163 Nm motor- retains it’s same combined power of 122 PS however company claims they have tuned the engine although nothing new was mentioned.
Changes are evident on the inside also, as the C-HR gets a new multimedia system that has a lot more features for connectivity. Featuring a large eight-inch touchscreen display, which houses full smartphone features like Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It also has ‘over the air’ updates for navigation system.
Coming towards the suspension, the all-new facelifted C-HR comes with an all new suspension, which the company claims is very comfortable and has improved the overall ride comfort. The company claims to have improved the insulation of the C-HR with the inclusion of an upgraded NVH to reduce the noise levels. Whereas the overall steering feel is much improved now as the new steering is tuned for better response on the road.
Toyota has revealed that the new C-HR will be available from December onwards, Although only the 1.8 litre versions have been announced. Toyota will be offering the C-HR top spec in the same Koba variant.
