TCEC teases facelifted Renault Koleos

KUALA LUMPUR: TC Euro Cars, TCEC, the official distributor of Renault car in Malaysia, has teased the 2020 Renault Koleos facelift. A post on the official Facebook page of Renault Malaysia confirmed the car's arrival. In June this year, the 2020 Koleos facelift made its debut.

Interested buyers can click on the link given on the post to show their interest, or they can visit the upcoming 2019 PACE (Premium Auto Car Expo), which is scheduled to happen this weekend, November 2 and 3. The car will be on display at the event in Setia City Convention Centre, Selangor.

As for the exterior, the facelifted Koleos features a more pronounced front grille that comes with new chrome trimmings, which is found between the C-shaped light signatures and Pure Vision LED headlamps. There is also a new trim piece found across the front bumper, which is placed between the upper and lower aprons. The revised lower apron comes with redesigned fog lamp enclosures, a more prominent skid plate, and smaller fog lamps.

At the rear, there is a larger skid plate compared to the front. The silver-colored skid plate is found just below the redesigned chrome garnish. Moreover, there are three-dimensional Edge light tail lamps, which are unchanged. The car rides on the new two-tone alloy wheels, and a Vintage Red metallic paint finish can also be found. However, TCEC has not disclosed whether the Malaysian market is getting all of these or not.

Inside the car, new soft materials are introduced in some parts to give new Renault Koleos a more upscale feel. The back seats feature a two-stage reclining seatback. Also, there is an updated R-Link 2 8.7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen at the centre dash that now support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The car was introduced with two new diesel engines - a smaller Blue dCi 150 1.8-litre engine and a larger Blue dCi 190 2.0-litre. But the existing Koleos in the Malaysian market is sold with a four-cylinder 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which pushes out a maximum power of 171 PS and a peak torque of 226 Nm. Expectedly, the powertrain will be the same as the existing model in 2020 Renault Koleos.
