Subaru teases 2020 BRZ, to debut on November 18
KUALA LUMPUR: The Subaru BRZ was introduced back in 2012, and now for the very first time, it is getting a redesign. The automaker has shared an image and video of the rear-wheel-drive sports car, giving us clues about its appearance and powerplant. While the image shows the 2020 BRZ's headlight, the video reveals its powerful engine sound. Besides the company has also announced that the all-new 2020 Subaru BRZ will make its debut this month, November 18, to be precise.
Toyota and Subaru entered into a new capital alliance back in September 2019, confirming the arrival of next-gen Toyobaru twins. However, there's no news of the 2020 Toyota 86's arrival.
What everyone is wondering about is the powerplant that'll support the new Subaru BRZ. Though nothing is confirmed, the rumors suggest the use of Subaru's tried and tested 2.4-litre flat-four engine available either with a turbocharged (260 hp) or naturally aspirated (217 hp) configuration. Either way, the 2020 BRZ when on the go sounds amazing (from the official video).
As for the upcoming BRZ's design language, Subaru's sports car retains the shape of the ongoing model with changes seen in the grille, headlight, wheel, rear lip spoiler, and taillamp area.
More concrete information about the 2020 Subaru BRZ will be out in the next two weeks, including its source of power.
