Subaru Levorg to Make a Malaysian Debut in Second Quarter of 2016
Kuala Lumpur: The new Subaru Levorg is all set for a Malaysian launch in mid-2016. This news was confirmed by Motor Image which is Southeast Asean's exclusive Subaru distributor. The new Levorg is said to combine the practicality of a touring car along with the feel of a sports car. Before going for sale in Japan, this car was introduced as a prototype in 2013. Later, it was introduced in the UK in June 2015 with a sole GT spec. We can expect the same UK model to be launched in Malaysia as both feature the same engine.

Under the hood, the all-new Subaru Levorg would be powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) flat-four petrol engine which delivers a peak power of 170 PS at 4800-5600 rpm along with a commanding torque of 250 Nm at 1800-4800 rpm. The sole transmission choice is a Lineartronic CVT which sends power to all four wheels. Unfortunately, Malaysian model would not be getting the larger 2.0-litre turbocharged DIT engine which is available just for the Japanese-spec Subaru Levorg. This mills churns out a power of 300 PS along with 400 Nm of torque.
Towards the front fascia, it features a large hexagonal grille along with signature hood air intake. It also features auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, high beam assist and Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD). Inside, it carries a boot space of 522-litre which can be further extended to 1446-litre by folding down the rear seats. If we get the same UK model here then you can expect 18-inch alloy wheels along with a host of safety kit like blind spot detection and rear vehicle alert. Apart from this, nothing much has been revealed by the official dealer including its price.
