Subaru Levorg Prototype image leaked ahead of its Tokyo Motor Show debut
KUALA LUMPUR: An image of Levorg Prototype, the Subaru car that is all set to debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show this month, has appeared on a Japanese magazine’s monthly issue. However, this is not the first appearance of the car on the internet as Subaru has already released a short teaser.
According to the published image, the car looks ready for production. Nonetheless, there is an expectation of some changes in styling. The model looks more angular, and the visuals are more prominent in comparison to the existing model. The pointed front end features a hexagonal larger grille, which comes with a chrome strip.
The curved headlamps are placed in the cuts at both corners of the front end. Below them, there are protruding corners that house the fog lamps. The bonnet scoop remains the same as the current model. It also looks more angular to draw the similarity with the rest of the look.
Apart from the angular look, there are also some changes in the design compared to the current model. The round-shaped wheel arches are replaced by squared-off shape. The doors also come with a more prominent crease at the base. The character line appears flowier.
No further images are there to explain the design of the rear. However, from Subaru’s last month teaser, all we can say is the taillights are slimmer compared to the current model and they will come in C-shaped design.
Apart from the look, there are no further details available on the key features like powertrain, safety features, and more. Expectedly, it will be based on the Subaru Global Platform and powered by a pair of turbocharged flat-four engines, including a 1.5-litre and a 1.8-litre. While the former churns out a maximum power of 148 hp, the later gives 266 hp. It is also expected that there will be an all-wheel-drive and a Lineartronic CVT.
