Subaru has confirmed its lineup for Tokyo Auto Salon 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: The first auto show for 2023 will be the Tokyo Auto Salon which is scheduled from the 13th to the 15th of January 2023.

Subaru is amongst the few automakers along with Nissan to have revealed their lineup for the upcoming auto show. Part of the Subaru lineup is several interesting cars including the all-new Impreza with an STI badge. However, here’s the catch. Unlike the previous-gen WRX STI which was a full-born performance model, the Impreza STI will just get an aesthetic makeover with nothing high-impact under the hood.

As per the automaker’s press release on the subject, Subaru’s TAS 2023 lineup will showcase the Japanese-spec Impreza in standard form and with STI parts. Meaning that the upcoming Impreza would be the regular non-turbo version with STI styling.

Also, the automaker earlier confirmed that there will not be a WRX STI in the future, due to the strict and continuously evolving emission regulations. However, performance car enthusiasts need not to worry as there will be a semi-hot STI Sport# version of the Levory at the STI 2023.

The upcoming Levorg STI Sport# prototype is said to be an ‘STI complete car’ that will be based on the sporty Levorg STI R EX version. The car will offer a premium drive feel along with enhanced stable handling.

Other Subaru models lined up for the TAS 2023 include - the Resa Prototype, Crosstrek Boost Gear Concept, Rex Boost Gear Concept, Subaru GT300 2022, Subaru WRX NBR Challenge 2023, and Subaru Rally Challenge 2023.

As for Nissan, the automaker will be bringing the Fairland X at the auto show, thus making it the car’s debut spot.
