Subaru Global Platform Unveiled – 2017 Subaru Impreza will be the First to Use
Kuala Lumpur: Seems like the year 2016 is dedicated to new technologies and revolutionary features in the auto industry. Gearing to match with the pace is the 63 years old Japanese automaker Subaru, which has brought the latest Subaru Global Platform in the light. Fuji heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, has confirmed that this platform is still under research & development and once it is done to the perfection, it would be used for all of the next-generation Subaru vehicles. The 2017 Subaru Impreza is the first to carry this revolutionary platform and so it is already under the scanner of auto critics and prospective customers. The new 2017 Impreza is the production model of the Subaru Impreza 5-Door Concept, which was initially staged at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and won the hearts of the auto enthusiasts and critics with its aggressive looks and cutting-edge technology.
In order to achieve the motto of its inception of providing sumptuous drives, Subaru shared its visionary plans some time ago. The newly introduced Subaru Global Platform is among those 6 initiatives, which the company has promised to the customers and itself of fulfilling as a part of 'Prominence 2020'. Sharing the importance of the new platform, Tasuyuki Yoshinaga – the President of FHI cited, “This new Subaru platform is a proof of how the company has developed over the years”. The authority also gave insights of what the new platform is all about and how it will strengthen the stamina of the upcoming drives.
Mr. Yoshinaga emphasized on the fact that the next-gen Subaru Platform is designed keeping the future needs in mind and will refine the comfort and stability while suppressing the noise and vibration levels. The dramatic increase in rigidity will enhance the safety from 70% to 100% in future models in comparison to the present models. Also, the lower centre of gravity would bring more responsiveness to the steering, which would eventually allow precise control over the car by the drivers even in adverse conditions.
As of now, Subaru has confirmed the incorporation of the next-gen Subaru Platform in the 2017 Subaru Impreza only but after receiving the feedback and inputs from auto experts, the company would sooner or later use it in its entire lineup including the favorite Subaru compact crossover of Malaysians – Forester. A quick update about the 2016 Subaru Forester is that it will be assembled into the Subaru's Tan Chong unit, Segambut from April 2016. The production facility has already received 10,000 CKD units from Japan and will start the assembling process anytime soon. Stay tuned to get more info on this!
