Daniel Gonzalez, Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis ASEAN, shared the significance of the new hub: “India and Asia Pacific region is the third growth engine for Stellantis, and the Regional Parts Hub is anticipated to become a key asset in our regional supply chain strategy. This investment underpins Stellantis’ long-term commitment in strengthening our footprint and growth not just in the region, but more importantly in contributing towards solidifying Malaysia’s position as a regional automotive hub. We are here to stay and are dedicated to enhancing customer experience, service delivery and operational efficiency with this new hub that will serve both Malaysia and the wider region.”

Scheduled to commence operations in early 2025, the parts hub will support Stellantis’ ongoing localisation drive by improving part availability and efficiency for about 20 countries in the region, with Malaysia as a key market.

In line with Stellantis' customer-first approach, the hub aims to streamline aftersales services by minimizing downtime and ensuring quick access to spare parts for its brands, which include Peugeot, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, RAM, and Leapmotor.

Commenting on the new warehouse’s strategic role, Olivier Torchet, Head of Parts & Services for Stellantis India & Asia Pacific, stated, “The opening of our regional parts warehouse in Malaysia marks a significant milestone in our dedication to customer-centricity as we continue to better serve our customers across the India and Asia Pacific region. Strategically located in a Free Trade Zone in Malaysia, this regional warehouse will allow us to improve parts availability, reduce lead time and enhance the overall service efficiency. It will also enable us to respond quickly to the growing needs of our customers while ensuring they receive the highest level of aftersales support.”

This move also aligns with Stellantis’ larger vision of establishing a robust regional base in Southeast Asia, particularly through its “Built in ASEAN for ASEAN” plan, initiated in 2021.

    Stellantis plant Gurun Malaysia

The company’s acquisition of the Gurun plant in Kedah—now a dedicated production facility—was one of the first steps in its ASEAN roadmap.

This facility supports Stellantis' ambitions to serve both local and export markets, including Malaysia, where Stellantis Malaysia was formed earlier this year to oversee the marketing, sales, and after-sales services across all its brands in the country.

The new Regional Parts Hub represents a significant investment in Malaysia's potential as a central automotive hub in Asia, underlining Stellantis’ long-term commitment to the region and its customers.

    Leapmotor C10 review Malaysia

Although Stellantis Malaysia is known locally for the Peugeot brand, it has recently introduced its second brand in Malaysia: Leapmotor, a rising EV brand from China.

The debut model, the 2024 Leapmotor C10, positions itself as a high-tech, premium D-segment SUV that combines impressive range, performance, and competitive pricing.

The C10 is on sale in Malaysia in a single, high-spec “Design” variant, priced at RM149,000 until November 30, 2024. After that date, the price will rise to RM159,000.

The C10 comes equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor that provides 218 PS and 320 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 170 km/h.

Under the floor, it houses a 69.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a WLTP-rated range of up to 424 km on a single charge.

For charging, the C10 supports up to 84 kW of DC fast charging, which can bring the battery from a 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) in about 30 minutes. For at-home or AC charging, the C10 accepts up to 6.6 kW, needing around 6.1 hours to reach an equivalent SoC.
