Sporty, stylish Ford Ranger Splash Edition made a comeback

KUALA LUMPUR: If you are a Ford Ranger fan, we have an exciting update for you. The Splash version of the pickup that received much love in the 1990s is now back with a boom. The 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package adds unique exterior and interior visual touches to the standard model. Let’s know it in detail.

The special Ranger will come in two versions - Splash Package and Splash Limited Edition. The exclusive touches of the Splash pack are body-side orange and black graphics, and unique 18-inch 12-spoke wheels painted in matte black. On the front grille, we can see orange nostrils along with gloss black accents. Also, the bumpers, side mirror caps, fender vents, and wheel lip molds are trimmed in gloss black. 

Inside, the whole look is spruced up with exclusive seats that feature orange contrast stitching, and unique carbon grain tuxedo stripes. In Lariat models, these are trimmed in leather. The orange splashes can also be seen on the steering wheel, gear shifter, and parking brake. Moreover, the top of the dashboard, and front and rear armrests get orange detailings in Lariat models.

Those who want a combination of distinctive looks and more off-road capability can club the appearance pack with the FX2 or FX4 package, says Ford.

“Ranger customers love to personalize their trucks – more than 80% customize their Ranger with an appearance package – and with Splash, we’re giving them something exclusive,” said Chad Callandar, Ford Ranger marketing manager. 

Moving to the Splash Limited Edition, these special pickups will have one-time-only colours that the automaker will roll out every few months for “just a few hundred” units. The first batch will be the Splash Snow Edition. It will boast exclusive exterior and interior finishings with 18-inch matte black wheels. 

Ford offers the Ranger Splash Package with SuperCrew models (XLT and Lariat) in the US market at a price starting from $1,495 (approx RM 6,218).
