Spied Moving: 2016 Proton Perdana spotted in public
Kuala Lumpur: The automobile giant Proton rolled out another package of euphoria for the Malaysians, the all new Proton Perdana. We received a spy video of Proton’s upcoming flagship sedan undergoing on-road tests on a public highway through our sources. The all new Perdana 2016 is said to be spotted on the PLUS Highway near Behrang. Although, the car was covered by a full-body camouflage, but the following video gives us a fair abstract of the Malaysian carmaker's next name plate.
The all new Proton Perdana is said to persist its own design on the interiors and exteriors, unlike the current model which is mainly for government official use. Sources confirm that the all new Perdana will be based on the eight-gen Honda Accord.
The video clears off some doubts regarding the vehicle, most noticeable being the thick C-pillars on the sides. Also, it appears like the car’s profile has been altered compared to the donor vehicle. A shallower angle has been chosen for the rear glass.
The front fascia appears to be all hammered in a new way, but the familiar Proton face can be clearly pointed out. Moving towards the rear, it’s interesting to see that the exhausts are integrated into the rear bumper to enhance the design. All we can speculate is that, if what appears in the video is going on production then Perdana will be the first car from Proton family to have this design element.
According to sources, the Perdana is to be launched by next year, along with the Honda powertrains. The car is said to be powered by 2.0 litres and 2.4 litre i-VTEC petrol engines coupled with a five-speed automatic gearbox. Stay tuned with us to keep on receiving more updates on the Protos Perdana 2016.
