Six special hues for the limited-run Audi R8 LMS GT2

KUALA LUMPUR: A small and special series of the Audi R8 LMS GT2 race car has been launched by Audi Sport customer racing. It is offered in six striking tones that are said to have transformed the already impressive-looking race car into a collectors’ item. Supporting our notion is the fact that only one model per colour will be made available.

“For the first time in the 13-year history of Audi Sport customer racing we are offering such a color concept to our customers. With one model per color, our Color Edition guarantees pure individuality and will not be issued a second time like this. It is unique compared to our competitors and attracts attention – whether as a collector’s item or as a race car at track days and competitions," said Head of Audi Sport customer racing, Chris Reinke.

This beautiful beast is powered by an equally capable mill, i.e., a free-revving 5.2-litre V10 fire-breathing monster making a maximum power of 640 hp. Elaborating its capability a little further, the said power unit is responsible for two GT2 season opener race victories.

Apart from the colour palette, everything else remains the same between the standard and limited-edition Audi R8 LMS GT2 race car.

Time to address the elephant in the room, the six colour options made available for the limited-run R8 LMS GT2 are -

• Vegas yellow
• Kyalami green
• Tactical green
• Misano red
• Sebring black
• Nogaro blue

As mentioned only one unit of the limited edition R8 LMS GT2 in each tone will be on offer, so anyone wishing to buy one must hurry. The limited-edition Audi R8 LMS GT2 race car price tag reads 349,000 euros (approx. RM 1.7 million).
