Six Genesis models teased at GV80’s official debut
KUALA LUMPUR: Along with the official debut of the GV80, Genesis teased six new models in the backdrop. The silhouette of all the six models was shown at the big screen just behind the centre stage where Genesis’s Chief Design Officer, Luc Donckerwolke was unfolding details related to the company’s new design language, with new Crest grille and quad lights.
Though the details of the teased models weren’t shed out by the chief he did say, “I know that you would like to see more light on this photo, but for now, we will keep the mystery.” Out of the six models, two of them seem to be the new and updated versions of the G80 and G70 sedans. Another is the GV70 along with the GV80.
Next is likely a sleek coupe based on the Essentia concept revealed earlier. It could be the electric vehicle with a carbon-fibre body of the Essentia and zero-emission powertrain under the hood. Also, some time back, Genesis’s boss hinted at the introduction of an EV in 2021 different from the Mint concept. We might be looking at the coupe EV that the company would reveal next year.
Lastly, the sixth model could be the one based on the Mint concept, which is a two-seater electric concept with a travel range of 322 Km and 350 kW fast charging capabilities. The side profile of the model was shown at the big screen that looked like a three-door hatch with quirky looks.
Since the company has kept mum on the new models, all we can do at this moment of time is wait. As we sit tight for an official statement to come out you are requested to be with us for more related information.
