To get an idea of what's in store with the 2024 Isuzu D-Max facelift, we can look at the Thai-spec model, knowing that Malaysia will import the new D-Max from Thailand as before.
Starting with styling upgrades, the 2024 D-Max benefits from a new front grille with a 3D look, revamped headlights, and redesigned bumper intakes featuring air curtains on the sides. Isuzu has also incorporated a new power bulge into the engine hood, giving the front fascia a higher and wider appearance. The rear gets a new tailgate along with revised tail light graphics and a larger integrated spoiler.
The whole lineup of the pickup also gets fresh alloy wheel designs, including 18-inch "Rugged and Wild" style and 18-inch Turbine Spiral.
Inside the 2024 Isuzu D-Max facelift, we can find the unchanged dashboard layout with new trim options and improved technology. The higher trims get a larger 7.0-inch multi-info display and paddle shifters. The pickup truck also gains new touch-sensitive buttons/shortcuts for the 9-inch infotainment unit, USB-C ports (front and rear), 8-speaker surround sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats and a new key with remote engine start function.
With the higher trims also comes an improved ADAS suite thanks to the more advanced 3D Imaging Stereo Camera featuring an 8-point sensor system and 2-point radar. The newly added features are - adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and turn assist with automatic emergency braking.
Coming to the mechanical setup, the upgraded Isuzu D-Max is likely to be offered in the same drivetrains as the pre-facelift which are - 1.9-litre BluePower turbodiesel and the 3.0-litre BluePower turbodiesel. The former produces a maximum power of 150 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm while the latter is tuned to deliver 190 PS and 450 Nm. These come paired with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT that sends power to all four wheels or the rear wheels.
For the exact specifications as well as pricing, we need to wait for the 2024 Isuzu D-Max facelift official launch in Malaysia, which is just a few days away.
