Now, for the second half of the year, UMW Toyota is gearing up to better serve the customers. It recently introduced us to its new seamless Toyota car ownership journey. Under which, it offers the best financial insurance packages, Loyal-T programme, Toyota 24Seven roadside assist, top-notch servicing, Toyota Body & Paint, Toyota VTS, and much more.
"Shifting gears into the second half of 2022, UMW Toyota Motors is focused on going the Extra Mile to provide Toyota owners with the best ownership and after-sales experience by reimagining what ownership is about. Looking ahead, shifting consumer behaviours will likely place value on advanced automotive technologies and comprehensive security features supported by a host of value-added after-sales services,” said Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
While the automaker forecasts a short-term negative impact on sales due to the SST exemption rollback, it assumes that this will be mitigated by ramp-up in production and faster deliveries with the recovery of the global shortage of semiconductors in the second half of the year. Also, the launch of the new models with advanced automotive tech will leave buyers spoilt for choice, says Toyota.
The brand’s big launch in Malaysia is, of course, the new Veloz, which is the sister model to the new Perodua Alza. Bookings of the MPV are now underway at estimated pricing of RM 95k. As a replacement for the Avanza, the Veloz will come equipped with a new transmission and suspension setup for better acceleration and smoother drive. In terms of advanced features, you will get a Toyota Safety Sense ADAS pack, a 9-inch freestanding infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a Qi wireless charger.
How will the Veloz launch drive the Toyota numbers in the second half of the year? It will be interesting to watch.
