Renault Samsung Motors to introduce six new cars
KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean automaker, Renault Samsung Motors recorded good sales numbers last year, it sold 177,450 vehicles in the domestic and international markets. The QM6 SUV was the most sold vehicle in its line-up, with 47,640 units sold in the domestic market alone. It took 54.8 per cent of the total domestic sales in 2019. The changing trends and ever-evolving customer’s demands are responsible for the success of the QM6, according to the automaker.
The company revealed that a total of 7,557 QM6 units were sold in the last month of 2019, which made it the bestselling SUV in the domestic market in December. The mid-sized SUV was introduced only six months back. The automaker said that customer’s demands are changing and to stay in tune with the same, necessary steps should be taken. The QM6 was required and hence was introduced.
Aside from this, the QM6 LPe, which is LPG variant, turned out to be a hit as it contributed 64.9 per cent to the total sales of all QM6 models. This is also the country's very first SUV powered by LPG. Currently, the South Korean automaker offers both variants in the markets, QM6 dCi and the QM6 LPe. The claimed fuel efficiency of QM6 dCi is 14.4 Kmpl.
Renault Samsung Motors is turning 20 this year and has revealed its plans to introduce six new cars including the XM3. Dominic Senora, CEO of Renault Samsung Motors said, "In the first quarter of 2020, we will launch a crossover XM3 model that combines the strengths of sedans and SUVs. Also, we will present a fully-changed QM3 model as well as the third generation of the global bestselling electric car ZOE in the first half of this year,".
