Renault Captur Trophy displayed at PJ showroom

KUALA LUMPUR: TC Euro Cars, the Malaysian distributor Renault cars, has given RS treatment to Renault Captur. The sporty edition of the car, called Renault Captur Trophy, is all set to rule the Malaysian roads in the near future. It is displayed at the Renault’s Petaling Jaya showroom in Selangor. However, reportedly, it might not be the final product.

In April this year, Renault Captur received an update. The engine was upgraded to Euro 6 compliant, and the company also introduced the Captur+ special edition. However, the Renault Captur Trophy is only a special cosmetic edition with no change in dynamics or performance.

Speaking of the cosmetic changes, the upcoming sporty edition of the compact crossover showcases an orange and yellow paint job. The orange color is bright and different, and it’s formally called Trophy Orange.

The exterior also features a black chequered flag design on the sides of the car, which is an RS signature. The car also comes with front and rear bumper spoilers. Moreover, it is integrated with a silver-colored F1-style front blade, which can also be seen on RS hot hatchback models. The lower side of the rear and the sides of the car are colored in black, while the front end comes with the body color.

Inside the car, there is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports apps like Waze, Joox, and more when online. The leather seats are colored in black. Apart from these, there are dashcam, front center armrest, and scuff plates/boot sill guard.

Under the hood, Captur Trophy is equipped with a 1.2-litre TCe 120 engine that churns out a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 205Nm. The engine also comes with auto start-stop after the update, which was incorporated in April this year. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) gearbox.

Expectedly, Renault Captur Trophy will come with a price tag of RM107,980 without insurance. As for now, the exact date of the launch is not revealed.
