Dubbed the Proton eMAS Pioneer Teh Tarik Sesh, the gathering was designed to encourage real conversations about the benefits, challenges, and future of electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia.

It wasn’t just about promoting the eMAS 7—it was about creating a space where both EV enthusiasts and newcomers could connect and share their thoughts.

What happened during the open conversations

The event featured two interactive discussion sessions where attendees exchanged more than 100 insights and feedback points.

Participants included current EV owners, industry advocates, and individuals considering their first electric vehicle. Discussions covered key topics like the transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, the cost benefits of EV ownership, charging infrastructure, and how the Proton eMAS 7 fits into modern mobility.

Leading the conversations were industry experts and PRO-NET, who provided practical knowledge and answered questions in an open and candid format.

More importantly, attendees had the opportunity to voice their concerns, share experiences, and get a clearer picture of what owning an EV in Malaysia entails.

Salawati Mohd Yusoff, Chief Branding Officer of PRO-NET, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting customers throughout their EV journey. “Our goal with Proton e.MAS has always been to make the EV experience seamless, exciting, and reassuring for our customers. EV adoption is still new for many, and we want to ensure they feel supported every step of the way. By engaging directly with owners and future adopters, we are not just delivering a product—we are building a community that is confident in embracing a new era of mobility.”

Since its launch in mid-December 2024, the Proton e.MAS 7 has quickly become Malaysia’s best-selling EV. With 421 units registered in its first month, it has topped the country’s EV registration charts for January 2025.

The model has also amassed over 4,000 bookings, backed by a growing network of 30 dealerships nationwide. With a 25% market share in Malaysia’s EV segment, PRO-NET is playing a key role in the nation’s shift toward sustainable mobility.

    Real-world feedback from owners

The session also gave current Proton eMAS 7 owners a platform to share their experiences. Among them was Ahmad Yumnie Bin Adanan, who highlighted the SUV’s practicality for families. “Space is important when you have a child, and the e.MAS 7 gives us that comfort. It’s practical for a family like mine,” he said, noting how easy it is to fit a stroller and install a baby seat.

Another early adopter, Muhamad Iskandar Bin Abdul Rahman, booked his unit during the eMAS Tour in Kuantan, even before the official launch.

Drawn by its affordability, advanced features, and Proton’s wide service network, he shared his satisfaction with the switch to an EV. “I never regretted switching to an EV. The technology, the savings, the convenience—after this, no more ICE cars for me.”

The event also highlighted PRO-NET’s ongoing efforts to enhance the Proton e.MAS ecosystem.

With the Live Integrated Charging Map and upcoming over-the-air (OTA) updates set to roll out this year, the company aims to continuously improve the ownership experience.

As Proton continues to add to Malaysia’s EV landscape, events like the Teh Tarik Sesh demonstrate the brand’s focus on listening to its customers and building a supportive community they said.
