Production-spec Pininfarina Battista arrives at Monterey Car Week
KUALA LUMPUR: There was a lot of hype around the production-spec Pininfarina Battista and with the commencement of the Monterey Car Week, the finished product is out in the open.
At the fest, Pininfarina showcased two Battista hyper EVs and prospective buyers finally got to check out its explosive 1,900 bhp power output. The automaker's claim the EV to hit the century sprint in just two seconds. Also, its 120kW battery offers a range of 500 km.
Out of the two Battista, one is showcased above, it features exposed carbon bodywork, forged aluminium alloy wheels, and blue Alcantara/black leather interior with black anodised aluminium trimmings. The other option on display that is limited to just five units is called Battista Anniversario.
The two Battista will also be on display at Pebble Beach, where they will share the stage with "an exclusively curated selection of classic Pininfarina designs from the company’s 91-year history”.
Coming back to the Monterey Car Week, it's here for the first time that onlookers get to hear the Battista. As per the automaker, the hyper-EV is currently developing a "unique soundspace' that increases in increments of 54Hz, as the car speeds up. Why 54Hz, you ask? Well, that's because it is a multiple of 432Hz which is 'mathematically consistent with the universe' (as per music theory) and is said to be a 'pure sound'.
Pininfarina will only build 150 units of the Battista, with each costing many-many millions.
