PRO-NET takes charge of Proton e.MAS brand
KUALA LUMPUR: Following the successful introduction of the smart EV brand in Malaysia, PRO-NET, a subsidiary of national carmaker PROTON, has taken the helm of e.MAS, the latest addition to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The PROTON e.MAS brand was officially launched on June 12, 2024 to much fanfare as it will be the national carmaker’s first Electric Vehicle.

PRO-NET emerged as the top candidate for this award after a rigorous evaluation of companies from 22 countries. The recognition was based on their superior network construction quality, significant EV market share, and innovative marketing strategies. Back to e.MAS, the enthusiasm for the PROTON EV brand was evident, with over 25,000 participants taking part in a recent contest to guess the new brand name. The contest winners are:

- Runner-up Prize of RM1,500: Noor Hidayah Binti Mohd Rodzi

PRO-NET is gearing up for a busy end to the year and an exciting start to 2025. Next week, they will launch the smart#3, and soon after, preparations will begin for unveiling the first e.MAS model by the end of the year, with an official launch planned for early 2025.
The first PROTON EV, rumored to be a variant of Geely's Galaxy E5, is expected to offer two battery options: 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, providing ranges of 440 km and 530 km, respectively. Powered by an advanced 11-in-1 intelligent electric motor, the vehicle will deliver a maximum power output of 218 PS and reach a top speed of 175 km/h.
