Porsche shares photos & video of the 2023 911 GT3 R

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R is coming and it is going to be a bang-on car as we can see from the official photos and a brief video clip of the car released by the automaker.

Based on the latest 992 generation of the 911, the upcoming Porsche’s prototype has been seen several times hitting the racetracks all over Europe. The car’s development is handled by Porsche motorsport partner, Manthey Racing.

Here’s what we know about the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R -

• The new GT3 R gets a massive rear diffuser, flared wheel arches, vented hood, massive rear wing, huge rear diffuser, and a chunky side skirts
• The car seems to ride on center-lock wheels covered in Michelin racing slicks
• In the Porsche 911 race car lineup, it sits between the 911 GT3 Cup and 911 RSR

• Powering the last gen model was a 4.0-litre flat-six naturally-aspirated mill generating a maximum power of 550 hp. A similar set is expected this time as well but with an improved efficiency
• The upcoming 911 GT3 R is also expected to come equipped with a 6-speed sequential gearbox and mechanical limited-slip differential

• The car’s body will be constructed with a mixture of steel, aluminum, and composite materials
• The car will be equipped with new software tools that’ll make changing the car’s setup much easier than before

With all these improvements, the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R will surely be pricier than its predecessor, it is expected to cost over half a million dollars. Once launched, it will be seen in global events like Intercontinental GT Challenge, North America's IMAS series, Nurburgring, and more.
