Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé launched in Malaysia - RM728,000

KUALA LUMPUR:  Porsche Malaysia has pulled the wraps off  and launched the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, and while it’s another hybrid SUV, it’s got some important firsts under its belt.

As the second Porsche model assembled locally, this RM728,000 hybrid marks another step in the brand’s regional push, with Thailand receiving the model first and then only Malaysia.

A Sharper Design, Inside and Out

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé sticks to Porsche’s formula: big on style, but nothing overly flashy. It comes with 20-inch Vesuvius Grey wheels, HD Matrix LED headlights, and metallic paint options like Carrara White, Chromite Black, and Dolomite Silver.

The looks are modern but not groundbreaking—it’s still very much a Cayenne.

The interior gets a fair share of attention too. A GT Sports steering wheel, BOSE Surround Sound System, and 12.3-inch infotainment screen are standard, alongside practical comforts like four-zone climate control and 14-way adjustable seats.

It’s the kind of stuff you expect at this price point—nothing overly indulgent, but it gets the job done.

At its heart, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé pairs a 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine with an electric motor, making a combined 519 PS. It’s enough for a respectable 0-100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 263 km/h.

The headline here, though, is the 90 km electric-only range. For daily city commutes, that’s plenty to keep things quiet and efficient, but it’s not exactly groundbreaking in today’s hybrid landscape.

Porsche’s adaptive air suspension is a standard feature, with Porsche Malaysia saying it offers a noticeable improvement over the previous model.

It adjusts to road conditions and driving modes with ease, giving you the choice between comfort and a bit of dynamic flair. It’s a solid addition, but again, expected at this level.

What’s the Big Deal?

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it reinforces Porsche’s foothold in Malaysia with local assembly and some genuinely useful hybrid tech.

It’s a good-looking, well-equipped SUV with enough performance to justify its price tag, but it’s not shaking up the segment.

If you’re already sold on the Porsche badge and want something efficient yet sporty, this could be worth a look.

For those on the fence, it’s available for booking at your nearest Porsche Centre now. At RM728,000, you’ll have to decide if its mix of hybrid efficiency and premium features is enough to stand out in a crowded SUV market.

This Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé is part of Porsche’s growing presence in Malaysia, thanks to its assembly plant established in 2022.

Since then, over 1,000 locally assembled Cayennes have made their way to customers, showing demand for luxury SUVs isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
