Peugeot Malaysia's new 408 fastback SUV goes on nationwide roadshow

KUALA LUMPUR: For those eager to check out Peugeot Malaysia's innovative new 408 SUV coupe, now is the perfect time. Peugeot Malaysia is embarking on a nationwide roadshow to showcase this newly launched model. Since its launch at the end of April, the 408 has garnered nearly 400 bookings, with the GT variant, according to Peugeot Malaysia, being the most popular choice among buyers.

Peugeot will bring the new 408 to major shopping malls, allowing potential customers to experience the car firsthand. The roadshow schedule includes:

• AEON Ipoh Station 18, Ipoh: June 14-16
• AEON Tebrau City, Johor Bahru: June 28-30
• 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur: July 11-14

The new Peugeot 408, all locally assembled at the Stellantis plant in Gurun, Kedah is offered in three variants (Allure, Premium, and GT), starting at RM146,055. The car represents the brand's innovative design and engineering, making it one of the most unique vehicles available on the market.

Common across all three variants is the PureTech 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 218 PS at 5,750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

All variants share the same platform (EMP2), engine, basic safety kit, and the 10-inch i-Cockpit digital display. Additionally, all models support wireless phone charging and include a comprehensive warranty package that covers seven years or 200,000 km.

The Allure and Premium models have 18-inch alloy wheels in Granite Grey and two-tone Granite Black, respectively, while the GT steps up with 20-inch wheels in Monolithe Black. The Allure and Premium feature a chrome-finished grille and full LED lighting, whereas the GT boasts a body-colored grille, matrix LED headlamps, and 3D ‘claw effect’ LED tail lamps.

Inside, the Allure starts with vinyl upholstery, the Premium offers leather, and the GT provides Nappa leather. All variants have electric driver's seat adjustments, with the GT adding memory and massage functions. The Allure's front passenger seat is manually adjustable, while the Premium and GT have electric adjustments. The Allure and Premium come with a six-speaker audio system, while the GT features a 10-speaker Focal Premium system and a cabin air cleaning system.

Safety features common to all variants, but the Premium adds front parking sensors, advanced traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, advanced AEB, front collision warning, blind spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.

If any of the variants sound enticing, visitors to the roadshow can take advantage of special offers, including an RM3,000 rebate on the Peugeot 2008 and RM8,000 rebates on the 3008 and 5008 models. Additionally, visitors can engage with a 3D interactive wall and share photos on social media to receive Peugeot merchandise. The event also includes test drives for the 3008 and the enhanced Landtrek for off-road enthusiasts.

Special treatment for Father's day

During Father's Day weekend (June 14-16), Peugeot dealerships nationwide will host a special campaign celebrating the legends of the Le Mans endurance race and fatherhood. Activities include a Le Mans livestream, pit-themed photo booths with lucky draw prizes, and a complimentary 20-point vehicle check for existing Peugeot owners. The event runs from 9 am to 6 pm at all authorized dealerships.

Peugeot Malaysia is also offering a campaign where customers can book the best-selling Peugeot 3008 for a fee of RM30.08 without needing to pay the downpayment, which will be covered by the brand. This campaign runs until August 31, 2024, and is available while stocks last.
