Peugeot Inception concept shows off the brand’s take on future EVs
KUALA LUMPUR: Stellantis-owned Peugeot introduced an all-new high-performance concept model at the Consumer Electronics Show in the US. Dubbed as the Peugeot Inception, the prototype features an edgy design with all sharp angles and several high-tech appointments.

With the parent company’s STLA Large platform underneath, the Peugeot Inception measures 5 m in length and just 1.34 m in height. The said platform comes with AI technologies like STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit, and STLA AutoDrive. These artificial intelligence techs can offer Level 4 autonomous driving.
The concept EV is equipped with a dual-motor setup delivering a maximum power of 680 hp, which enables the EV to hit the century sprint in under 3 seconds. The motors are fed by a 100-kWh battery pack offering an electric range of 800 kilometres. It also features 800V technology with wireless induction charging.
The exterior and interior highlights of the Peugeot Inception concept are -
- All-new light signature on the front incorporating the brand’s distinctive claw design, which is made up of glass
- Tech bar running through the door layer housing many sensors and radars. It emits different messages and also displays the charging levels
- 7.25 square metres of glazing create a glass capsule; the automaker used the Narima glass which first undergoes a metal oxide treatment
- A new Hypersquare control system inside the cabin, which is inspired by video games and offers an agile driving experience and a more intuitive i-Cockpit
- A retractable Hypersquare steering wheel that can make the cabin more inviting by the disappearance of the dashboard
- Sustainable ‘moulded textiles’ throughout the interior with scraps of 100% polyester fabric
- The seats are wrapped with velvet made from 100% recycled polyester
Linda Jackson, CEO of the PEUGEOT brand, said, “PEUGEOT is committed to the electrification of its range. In 2023, our entire line-up will be electrified and in the next two years, five new 100% electric models will be launched.
