Peugeot 508 launched in Malaysia after Nose Job.

KUALA LUMPUR: The most awaited Peugeot 508 with fresh looks was finally unveiled with a price tag in between RM 175,000 and RM 205,000. The car continues its legacy with more confidence this time. The visible nip and tuck can be seen on exteriors with a new vertical front grille which houses the honored Peugeot lion in the centre and the more horizontal and refurbished bonnet. Giving the car a stylish and expressive appearance at front and rear are Peugeot's signature head lamps and rear lights with LED technology. Further dazzled by the LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. With redesigned rear bumpers, the car runs on 18-inch lightweight alloy rims.

 The interiors have undergone a remake as well with the use of a refined quality material. The dashboard is glorified with Peugeot 7-inch HD multifunction touchscreen which displays a lot of information. This includes multimedia, navigation, vehicle configuration, telephone, integrated reverse camera, driving aids, and digital connectivity comprising Bluetooth, USB, CD/MP3 player, JBL HIFI 10 speakers with sub woofer, Arkarmys 3D sound processor and Peugeot juke box. The instrument panel is favoured by the head-up display with driving and navigation information in color. Other systems include key less ignition system, quad-zone automatic air conditioning, 8- way electric front seats with electric lumbar support.

 The Peugeot 508 is available in three variants-  SW, THP,  and GT with their own unique and special features. The SW and THP variants are armed with a 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbo high-pressure engine that crops up 165 hp of power and 240 Nm of torque. The combined fuel economy given by this engine is noted at 7.1 litres per 100 km. The GT variant is equipped with a 2.2 turbo diesel HDI engine that delivers 206 hp of power and 450 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency achieved in this case, is 5.7 litre per 100 km. Additionally, the engines are married to a 6-speed auto-adaptive gear box featuring Tiptronic and sports mode functionality.

 The high strength steel enforced body nests a lot of safety features inside which includes six airbags, dynamic stability control, emergency brake assist, anti-skid regulation, electric parking brake, park assist, hill start assist, blind sport information system, electronic stability program featuring anti-lock braking system along with firm suspensions that give this car true road holding qualities, making the ride comfortable and safe.

 The car is available in five dazzling colors- Pearl White, Bourrasque Blue, Pine Brown, Artense Grey and Harla Grey at Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Peugeot in Malaysia. With expectations from this car to make the brand's sales figure touching 6000 for this year. “As by April 2015, Peugeot’s market share among European cars is 15%.
