Perodua teams up with Telekom Malaysia to develop hi-tech EVs
KUALA LUMPUR: As the global automotive industry moves towards electrification, Malaysian automakers are also taking bold steps to keep pace with global sustainability trends. One recent step in this direction is the partnership between Perodua and Telekom Malaysia.

In simpler words, the partnership aims to enhance Perodua’s digital capabilities and infrastructure. The telecom giant will help the automaker revolutionise production processes and develop next-gen electric vehicles and autonomous driving tech. How?
Well, TM’s enterprise solutions arm, TM One will perform the following responsibilities -
- It will provide advanced fixed and wireless connectivity solutions like SD-WAN for dealer networks and private 5G for automotive use, enhancing Perodua’s infrastructure.
- It will offer smart manufacturing solutions such as Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and AI, enabling the automaker to improve operations and manage data better in a better way.
The joint efforts will help Perodua develop innovative digital offerings for its upcoming EVs, such as customised infotainment systems and smart mapping solutions. These co-created products and innovative go-to-market strategies will elevate customer experience and offer the two leading brands an expanded market reach and brand visibility.
Under the partnership, Perodua and Telekom Malaysia will also work on clean energy solutions for EV charging and waste reduction with the aim to support the country's carbon neutrality goals.
