Perodua Myvi - Key highlights
The Perodua is an immensely popular home-grown automaker in the Malaysian market. It has several products in its line-up, albeit Myvi is a volume model with record sales to its credit since its introduction. Belonging to the B segment, Myvi is a compact hatchback which packs all the essential amenities found in the contemporary models.
Speaking of aesthetics, Myvi is a mundane looking mainstream model, with a handful of sporty elements coming to its rescue. The five-door hatchback is available in five variants including 1.3L G MT, 1.3L G AT, 1.3L X AT, 1.5L H AT and 1.5L AV AT. The Perodua Myvi price has been tagged competitively, with the entry-level variant priced at RM 42, 790 and the fully loaded, top-spec variant available at RM 54,090. The complete list for the line-up is mentioned in the table below.

The petite hatchback is loved for many reasons, and here are some of the key highlights from the list.
Sporty exterior elements
While Perodua Myvi carries a mundane styling, there are some elements that add a sporty flair to the exterior and set it apart from competition. One such feature is the LED-equipped headlamps. This feature is missing in most of the models in the segment, however, Perodua Myvi is of the few B segment vehicles to benefit from it. Besides, the chrome door handles, alloy wheels and sharp beltline on the side enhance the overall look.
Cargo volume
Storage is another vital feature in a family car and Myvi does well in this department. The five-door hatchback has a boot space of 277-litres, which provides enough space for storing luggage. It can accommodate four large bags with ease. Also, the wide aperture offers easy loading and unloading.
Premium leather seats
Cabin comfort is supreme and the fully-loaded top-spec AV AT variant in the line-up packs most of the comfort features including the premium leather upholstery. It enhances the overall look and offers uncompromised snug cabin experience to the occupants. In comparison, Myvi’s arch-rival, and one of the popular B segment model, Proton Iriz misses out on the leather seat covers even on the range-topping variant.
Driver seat USB port
This feature is found in most of the expensive vehicles. It allows charging electrical devices while on the go, adding to the occupants’ convenience. The Perodua Myvi is one of the few models in this price bracket to get an integrated USB charging port on the driver’s seat.
Advanced Safety Assist
The ASA is one of the highlights on the Perodua Myvi. The ASA safety suite comprises of some of the advanced safety techs including Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control. It offers full-proof safety to the occupants and ensures a safe driving experience.
Safety shield
The standard safety kit on the Myvi includes 4 airbags (front and side). While the tops-pec grade comes with side and curtain airbags, offering a proper cushioning to the occupants. ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, traction control, emergency stop signal, reverse sensors, seatbelt reminder, anti-snatch hook and ISOFIX system with top tether are also standardized equipment.
Quiet cabin
A quiet cabin is ideal from the point of view of comfort and Myvi is among some of the vehicles in this price range to come with an acoustic windshield that prevents noise from seeping in, hence making the cabin quiet. This feature lessens the intensity of sound, such as wind noise, etc. that helps keep noise at bay.
Built-in toll reader
Another feature that stands out in the segment is the built-in toll reader. It is clearly one of the smartest features available with the Myvi. However, it is restricted to the variants powered by the high displacing 1.5L engine. That said, it comes only with 1.5L H AT and 1.5L AV AT grades.
What engine does Myvi use?
Perodua’s B segment hatchback is available with a choice of two engines including 1.3L and 1.5L units. The G and X variants source power from the low displacing 1.3L unit, while the H and AV grades house the slightly powerful 1.5L engine. The conventional five-speed manual gearbox is available with a single base G MT variant, while the 4E auto box is standard. The Perodua Myvi specs sheet and other details are as follows.
How heavy is a Myvi?
The Perodua Myvi 1.3L weighs between 955 to 985 kg (kerb weight), and the 1.5L version is slightly heavy at 1015 kg.
Despite belonging to the B segment, Perodua Myvi benefits from some of the cutting edge features, getting a cusp over rivals in its space. Competitive pricing and smart packaging make Perodua Myvi one of the most desirable models in its segment.
