Perodua Malaysia released first official image of Alza facelift
KUALA LUMPUR: We were aware of the fact that Perodua was under plans to give its MPV, Alza a facelift before launching an entirely new model. However, the timing would clash with the Merdeka celebration was not expected. It seems like this is Perodua’s way of greeting us all.
Earlier today, Perodua posted an image of the facelifted Alza, thus giving us the first seek-peek of the revised seven-seat MPV. Only a single image was posted on Perodua Malaysia Facebook page showing the front and side profile of the MPV. Thus, longing us for more images revealing the changes at the rear and interior. Hope someone from Perodua is listening.
On inspecting the image, we found a bulk of revisions. Starting with the grille design that now shows a new configuration that includes two chrome and one black slate in total. Also, the brand badging at the centre adds to the appeal. The new Alza shows a bolder face than before thanks to the revised bumper. It now features wider air intakes, thus responsible for the repositioning of the fog lamps.
A part of the new design is all-black fog lamp casing that if combined would make an X. Maybe it is a way of representing the Alza's X-factor.
As for the headlamps, they mainly feature the same positioning and design with a bit of a difference that comes in the form the now darkened clusters. Not only this slight change makes the units appear new but also compliment the new black trim on the bumper. That’s it for the front, moving our way to the side profile that looks quite the same as the current model.
However, one significant change comes in the form of black-finish alloy wheels, which again are added to match the color theme. Though, the born in Malaysia carmaker didn’t reveal the rear and cabin pictures, seeing the front we expect to see a few new elements. In addition to styling, some new utility and comfort features would be great.
The new Alza MPV might replicate the engine configuration of recently launched Myvi that runs on a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i motor making a maximum power of 103 PS along with a peak torque of 136 Nm. While the on-duty 2NR-VE unit in Alza provides the same output, the one in Myvi get the added benefit of better fuel efficiency and low exhaust emission, courtesy Dual VVT-i tech.
