KUALA LUMPUR: In the move to provide fair access to the EV charging infrastructure nationwide, BMW Malaysia has announced the official pricing structure for the facility.

The benefits of BMW i Charging facility include preferential Pay-Per-Use charging rates as well as complimentary access to all AC Charging stations nationwide.BMW Group Malaysia in partnership with chargEV aims to provide the highest level of Premium Electric Ownership Experience to all EV owners. Together the two have created a comprehensive network of over 400 EV charging stations across Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, and Sabah. The said charging infrastructure also includes AC Chargers that are located strategically across the network offering peace of mind to owners traveling intercity or out of town situations.

A BMW EV owner can register as a member of the chargEV-powered BMW i Charging facility by paying RM 240 annually. The benefits include preferential Pay-Per-Use charging rates as well as complimentary access to all AC Charging stations nationwide.
The EV owners via the chargEV mobile application can locate over 250 charging stations nationwide. Further, the app can be used to reserve charges, view the car’s real-time charging status, and even control (start & stop) the charging remotely.
Mr Visser further added, “Through our many partnerships with local tech and EV industry leaders over the past few years, we have been able to continuously grow our network of charging facilities where the needs are highest. With an official pricing structure in place, we are taking the next step in the ever- maturing EV ecosystem in Malaysia, by endeavoring to provide fair and adequate access to these facilities for all EV users in Malaysia – regardless of make and model, as electrification remains a shared responsibility amongst automakers in solving climate change.”
