Off-Roading UTV Mini Ford Raptor sets a new league!
KUALA LUMPUR: Ford Raptor is great for an expeditious journey through rough terrains from sandy roads to towering dunes, with utmost luxury and comfort. On the other hand, performance UTVs (utility terrain vehicles)—otherwise known as side-by-sides, give an exemplary performance for an off-road experience. Raptor is a force to be reckoned and even better, they offer exemplary off-road performance in comfort and style. The luxury of air-conditioning makes it very attractive to off-roaders and normal truck buyers alike. One downside is the weight and huge dimensions that lead to a loss of dexterity and agility.
It is interesting to note that, collectively, when speed and luxury come together to achieve their end goal, a badass off-roader is born. Knine Racing just wanted to bridge that gap between UTVs and the Ford Raptor, which brings us to this – the Mini Raptor.
The Knine Mini Raptor is built atop a Can-Am Maverick X3, but underlying styling is totally of Ford Raptor.
The new Mini Raptor has a compact and cushioned cabin that will offer utmost comfort. Also featuring is an enhanced air conditioning system that has an inbuilt system of offering protection from dirt. The cabin space is also sound-proof for distract free travel.
Talking about the styling and overhauling, we see a lot is influenced by the Ford Raptor especially the wide fenders allowing a smooth ride on muddy terrains. Overall, its look can be described as a shriveled Raptor. The most prominent difference noted is the short wheelbase that aids agility. This new creation is still light, though, tipping the scales at 2,500 pounds, a huge improvement from the 5,500-pound full-size Ford Raptor. Knine has also claimed that this powerful yet agile machine can spark from 0 to 100 miles per hour without any issues.
Manufacturers are also offering options for suspension which can either be a Fox 2.0 or 3.0. Also, the engine choice is made available depending on the base Can-am provided.
One of the variants of Maverick X3 features a 195-horsepower turbocharged Rotax engine, which persuaded the powertrain design for Mini Ford Raptor as well. Four-wheeling elevated suspension also offers more comfort as it allows a more effortless run on rough terrains.
No price revelations have been made yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this hefty toy comes at a whooping price.
