Nissan takes “No Charge to Charge” Initiative to Boston
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan had rolled out a new program last year for Nissan Leaf buyers, which is called the “No Charge to Charge”.
This program is applicable to those customers who have bought a Nissan Leaf after April 1,2014. It is freely accessible for two years at public charging stations. This means that free charging passes are available for 2,600 charging stations and also more than 200 quick chargers.
In Boston market on July 1, “No Charge to Charge” has been launched to allow owners to utilize the above mentioned chargers. These quick chargers are able to recharge battery packs of cars from null to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
“Nissan LEAF is an attractive option for Boston car buyers because it is fun-to-drive and offers significantly lower operating costs when compared to a gas-powered car”, as said by Andrew Speaker, director of Electric Vehicle Sales and Marketing, Nissan. “EV charging infrastructure continues to grow in Boston, and access to free public charging for new LEAF buyers helps make owning an all-electric vehicle even more cost-effective and convenient.”

Nissan's charging plan has covered 17 markets in the US, which includes San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle and Chicago.
The US is not the only market where so much popularity is gained by Nissan Leaf, for example, in the UK, the EV has targeted 10,000 units, which is a milestone after its launch in 2011. Nissan is doing work on a new-generation leaf, so it will be more interesting for green segment.
