Nissan showrooms resume operations with strict SOPs

KUALA LUMPUR: As the government releases new guidelines for resuming operations in the country, automakers are again ready to serve their customers. Following Proton’s announcement of reopening showrooms, Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM), the official distributor of Nissan cars, announced the resumption of operations at several showrooms from today.

Nissan outlets located in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Sarawak, Sabah, and Labuan are now opened. The vaccination rate in these areas is more than 50%. However, the following showrooms will resume their working from August 23, 2021:

• ETCM Taman Melati Utama Kuala Lumpur
• ETCM Nilai, Negeri Seremban
• ETCM Seremban, Negeri Seremban
• Seremban Victory Credit Sdn Bhd, Negeri Seremban
• Edaran Nuri (Kota Bharu) Sdn Bhd, Kelantan
• Edaran Nuri (Kemaman) Sdn Bhd, Terengganu

Nissan further mentioned that all its stores located in Kedah, Melaka, and Johor will remain closed for now as the percentage of fully vaccinated persons in these areas are still low. 

The automaker has put in place strict SOPs (standard operating procedures) for operations that strictly adhere to the benchmarks set by the government and thus ensures the safety of customers and staff at all times. These include:

• The employees who are fully vaccinated and have completed the post-vaccine incubation period i.e. 2 doses + 2 weeks are allowed to work in Nissan showrooms 
• The staff will be wearing face masks all times and will undergo frequent body temperature checks
• Regular disinfection of the premises and test drive vehicles will be carried out

Customers who are planning to visit a Nissan showroom are also required to comply with SOPs. They must have taken full vaccination and completed the post-vaccine incubation period. Before entry, they need to show the digital vaccine certificate and current MySejahtera status and undergo a thermal check. The persons having body temperature below 37.5 degrees celsius will only be allowed to enter. Wearing a face mask is also mandatory.
