Nissan NP300 Navara Seen Undisguised Before Official Launch
Kuala Lumpur: Though Nissan NP300 Navara is yet to be launched officially in Malaysia in November 2015, the new pick-up truck has been spotted totally undisguised by Shawn Loong - the person who shared its pictures. Here is the picture of the range-topping VL variant featuring LED projector headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lamps, 18-inch machine finished alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. The new pick-up truck is painted in the international hero Savanna Orange hue, which clearly confirms it is one of the colours that will be offered by Nissan.
The provisional specifications of the pick-up truck have been confirmed by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM). The D23 NP300 will feature a revised version of the current D40 Navara‘s YD25 2.5 litre diesel with common-rail direct injection and variable geometry turbocharging, producing 187 hp of power and 450 Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.

Nissan is also expected to include a six-speed manual gearbox at least on lower-end variants of Navara. The Malaysian specifications of NP300 feature a multi-link rear suspension with coil springs – a first for the pick-up segment – for better ride comfort while it retains a tough, durable solid rear axle. The interior of Nissan NP300 Navara features super-comfortable zero gravity-inspired seats, keyless entry, push-button ignition, a multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control and rear seat air vents.
In terms of safety, the new pick-up truck is equipped with the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), traction control, four-wheel Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). In certain markets, it will also feature up to seven airbags (including one for the driver’s knee), at least on higher-end models.
Those interested will get an opportunity to have its closer look when it will be on display at Nissan roadshows all across Malaysia from October 15 to November 22. A test drive invitation of this new pickup truck will be also offered upon registration on the official website of Nissan.
