Nissan March updated; gets new N-Sport trim level
KUALA LUMPUR: The Nissan March was first introduced back in September 2016 and is also known as the Micra in Europe. For the 2021 model year, the B-segment hatch has received a new trim level, called the N-Sport.
The Nissan March N-Sport exterior features several black elements at the front, side, and rear end. For example, black mirror caps complemented by 17-inch Perso alloy wheels. Also, part of the March's exterior lit is LED headlamps and fog lamps. Also, the N-Sport is joined by the Tekna, Visia, Acenta variant options with the automaker adding a new N-Design trim that comes with a range of customisation options. Including exterior finishes in chrome and glass black and two-tone 16-inch Genki wheels.
On the inside, the N-Sport gets an all-black treatment with Alcantara seat with white contrast stitching. In the N-Design trim have seats covered in black cloth with grey accents and leather-like trimming on the doors, dashboard, and kneepads. Besides, customers can also opt for an Energy Orange interior trim with its accompanying accessories.
Under the hood, the new Nissan March features a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the old Renault-sourced 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit now dropped. Though Nissan is numb about the engine's performance figure, we know this one is Euro 6d-complaint and its “enhanced torque delivery curve offers greater driving performance with fewer gear changes.”
As for safety, trims after Visia comes equipped with features like Intelligent Trace Control, hill start assist, and Intelligent Ride Control. In addition, a few selected March trims also benefit from Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite that includes several smart features like - Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and Intelligent Lane Intervention.
