Nissan Magnite concept’s funky interior revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan Magnite, a Japanese technology-driven compact SUV, has been previewed last month, albeit as a concept. And now, Nissan showcased the cabin of the SUV through a couple of images. Though the launch of the automaker’s smallest SUV is still some time away, the released pictures give us a clear idea of its design and equipment. Let’s check out the details.
The Magnite concept’s interior design is as bold as its exterior. It sports a two-tone upholstery combination of maroon red and black all over with a funky pattern running across the middle part of the dashboard. The dashboard design looks fresh at first sight, but a closer look reveals that its bottom half is identical to somewhat seen in the Renault Triber MPV.
At the centre console, there is a tablet-style touchscreen infotainment system along with climate control knobs and AC vents that are placed at the upper end of the dashboard. Other highlights include a digital instrument panel, silver accent on the steering wheel, push-button start, and the door grab handles.
The Nissan Magnite is likely to be one of the more feature-loaded SUVs in the segment. The list of expected tidbits comprises cruise control, a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, climate control, and a sunroof. On the safety front, Nissan could pack the SUV with four airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control.
In terms of oily bits, the automaker has not yet disclosed anything, but as hinted earlier, it will be built on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A platform, thus likely to share the engine options with the upcoming Renault HBC. It could have a 72 PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit capable of generating around 100 PS. Both engines are expected to be paired to a standard manual transmission with a CVT option exclusive to the turbo-petrol mill.
The model is slated to hit the Indian market in the first quarter of 2021, with a starting price of Rs 5.5 lakh (RM 30,857). For the global sales of Magnite, Nissan stated that it would start shortly after India.
